it is possible to stream raw data via SDK – we have been doing it from Objective-C (macOS) and C# (Windows).
You need the subscription though, and there’s several tiers. The 30$/month tier will impose restrictions which make it useless in my opinion. You get something like 30 time-limited sessions per month.

The other one, Pro subscription, sets you back something like 800$/year and gives you unlimited sessions. We chose that.

Now, the process of getting a raw data stream is badly documented. I haven’t tried the Java example, but both the ObjC & C# examples miss an important bit. You first have to activate the license in your app, at program start, for the raw data calls to return any data.

So basically copy over the license activation code from another example into your app.. again, this bit isn’t documented.

I recommend playing with this for a bit. You will probably notice that the entire system is very restrictive and user hostile. We have been dealing with this for weeks and there is rarely a day where things work fine. We have ongoing issues where the licensing system is somehow bugging out and will not let us read raw data on the macOS machine. On the C# side, it seems that you have to have an active internet connection and let your app talk to the Emotiv mothership to get the license activated.

Support & communication is mediocre at best.
As per Linh’s suggestion of writing email – we are waiting for a response to our last email to them, regarding our non-working license.

The headset itself seems ok, but it’s pretty obvious that this company has been taken over by sales people with a disregard for customer satisfaction.
