I just bought an Emotiv Insight during their lunar new Years sale. The device did not come with much explanation on usage or seeming support on getting started, so I’ve been combing forums and trying to learn as I go. I have downloaded the phone app , the control panel and bought BrainViz. As I’m combing through the forums here I am noticing a lot of support, activity and comments from the Emotiv staff, but most if not all I’m seeing is from 2 years or more ago about “we are working on this” “we are working on that” . A lot of those comments were made during and following the Kickstarter campaign and early release of this product, but the product is no longer new – it’s been out for a couple of years or more, yet I have heard nothing about where they are in terms of development on this product currently. If they are still selling and promoting, I assume they are still in business with future plans for development – or is this product dead in the water? I am just curious as to what future development of the applications have in store? Any plans on updating or improving on the mobile app? Allowing for recording of visual data in BrainViz. I like that function – being able to visually see specific brain wave activity, but it’s kind of disappointing that I can’t record those and play them back. I can’t see what my brain is doing during activities if my only activity is to sit here and watch it real time. I can record on the Control panel and review previous recordings in a graphy style there- would be great if that could sync up with the Brain Viz and record that also? On the mobile app the visual brain map is there too, while it is recording my stress, excitement levels etc, but , again, it is disappointing I can’t also record and see the visual map along with the graph like information. Also, I’ve watched different tutorials on the mobile app that look quite different from the app currently running. In these past videos it states you can review and compare previous recordings. I do not see that function int the current version of the mobile app. It only allows me to review the current recording, and after I end the session/close out the app, all of that information is gone. Is reviewing past recording in the mobile app something they have done away with? Any plans on bringing that back, or improving on that? I bought this device as sort of a biofeedback for meditation, to see if some of the “binaural beats” I sometimes listen to really do what they say they do. Having a hard time seeing if I am “deepening” relaxed states if I can’t record and compare different sessions. At any rate, thanks for your time if there is anyone out there that can respond.
