Ummm… when you used the knife to lever the sensors out of the pack, did you hear any cracking sounds? They are quarter-turn clips with a thin contact zone which you may have broken off by levering them out of the case. Turn them anti-clockwise to remove, clockwise to clip in place. Contact support (email hello at emotiv dot com) and see if you can send a close-up picture of a few sensors, especially the area at the back where they are supposed to clip in place.
What version of Mac OSX do you have and how old is your Mac? Which version number of Emotiv Xavier Control Panel installer are you using?
